During our trip back to the city, we got stopped by an accident and the highway literally turned into a parking lot. Luckily, it was a beautiful day, so everyone was out of their cars, meeting their car neighbors, playing their music, dancing, and having a good time. Near the end of our second hour of not moving, I had to go to the bathroom. There was a sign for a rest stop a mile and a half up the road. Since traffic was not moving and most people weren't even in their cars, Goody convinced me that it was safe to walk up the highway to the rest area. If the traffic started moving, he would just drive up to the rest area and pick me up. So, as I was walking along, I passed a random guy playing his bag pipes on the side of the highway. A small audience of people had formed to watch/listen, as you can see in the above video. While the car accident that caused the standstill was very unfortunate, this bag pipe player and his little audience made me laugh. Shortly after I ran into the bag pipe man, traffic started moving and a police officer used his mega-phone from across the road to ask me what I was doing. At that point I turned around. As a general rule of thumb, walking along the highway for any reason is not a good idea.
